Honduras has seen two separate incidents of truck overturning while carrying migrants across the border into Mexico.
The first occurred Sunday evening near Cartagena in the northern state of Mendoza, and the second at the town of El Buen Pastor in the state of San Pedro Sula, where authorities said one of the migrants was killed and the others were wounded.
The truck carrying about 1,500 migrants crashed at around 8 p.m.
Sunday near Cartigena’s port, where the migrants were waiting to be unloaded, according to local news outlet El Nuevo Herald.
Authorities said that one of them was killed when a vehicle collided with the truck.
The injured were taken to the city of El Salvador for treatment.
El Nueveldo Herald identified the migrants as Miguel Ruiz-Villegas and Rafael Valdez.
They are both from the southern state of Oaxaca.
Police said they were working with the federal police and Honduran authorities to trace the truck and determine whether any of the passengers were from Mexico.
